I hope you're enjoying the "Keep It Going-Get It Done" Quick Tip Series where each day for four days, I give you a Quick Tip and a Quick Action you can implement right away to write all the things that are going to help you create movement and momentum in your business!
"Keep It Going-Get It Done" Quick Tip #4 - Set up accountability systems. When we write for ourselves, we only have ourselves to be accountable to. That gives us a ton of wiggle room... room to wiggle out of the tasks we've set for ourselves. Because no one else is looking over our shoulders, making sure we get done what we stated we wanted to do.
- Understand the place this writing project has in the bigger picture of what you're trying to do. It's not just an article, a proposal, a campaign. It's part of the path to your bigger goals (more credibility, visibility, income, clients). It also helps to have a chainlink of dependencies. "I can't launch this new service until I write the sales page."
- Set deadlines. Yes, you're the one setting the deadline, but sometimes we can fool our brains with a hard date. Advertise an upcoming teleclass in your ezine. Put your next workshop on your Events calendar on your website. Tell someone you're writing a book. Now, you've created some external deadlines, not just an arbitrary one.
- What will happen if you finish your writing project? It's more than just getting one thing done and going onto the next. Really think about what that means: the sense of accomplishment, the pride, the "I can do it." Plus, forward movement on your bigger goals. (See #1 above.)
- What will happen if you DON'T finish your writing project? What are you delaying? No, the world won't end, but you are delaying those bigger goals. Hopefully, the pain of NOT doing it outweighs the pain of doing it.

These tips are highly invaluable ones that ought to be implemented.
Oftentimes, being accountable makes all the difference most especially when we allow ourselves to be accountable to other people as well. I guess, though, the strongest form of accountability is accountability to self.
