It's my alma mater's motto: "Veritas Liberabit Vos" - the truth shall make you free.
That keeps coming up for me as my own personal motto, as well as the slightly different form of "I speak my truth."
As a result, lately, I've been called a bitch, grumpy, or just very direct. I don't believe in wasting time, prevaricating, or walking on eggshells around others. Why do it?
I'm not overly rude, belligerent, or aggressive. I just see no point in not speaking the truth.
Truth has its advantages, too. My newest coaching client who is working on a paranormal romance novel, begged me to tell her the truth. "Just tell me now if you think I suck, and I'll stop this nonsense and go no further."
I speak my truth - and it shall make me free.
