Peter Shankman has created an amazing service where people (mainly authors and reporters) can connect with others for information, help, resources, you name it.
There are requests to talk to people from all industries for story ideas, requests for items for goody bags (only on Friday afternoons), and requests to real people for any storyline imaginable. Peter sends out these requests three times a day, without fail, and there's always something interesting.
What makes it great, though, for me, is Peter's writing. While my goal is always to reduce the number of e-mails in my inbox, I look forward to his three times a day. Here's why:
- Subject line from this morning's queries: "'Between the Work, and the Hurt and the Whiskey' edition." He says this about his choice of subject line: "PS: Subject line: Discovered the song this weekend. Like it. Don't give me crap about it. I know it's country. I know I'm born and raised NYC. Too bad. I like some country. Deal with it."
- This is how the afternoon queries e-mail started out: "Morpheus: 'I see it in your eyes. You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he is expecting to wake up. Ironically, that's not far from the truth. Do you believe in fate, Neo?'" Is that awesome, or what?
And that's just today's two queries so far. And they're all like that.
So, help a reporter out, and read some good writing in the meantime.

Alright, you're un trouble now- I've figured out how to read (and comment on) your blog from my blackberry. I'll be crosschecking your pop culture references!
