The other night we had a yen for ice cream, so we trotted (well, drove, really) on over to Baskin & Robbins. We also needed dog food, so after ice cream, we moved to Petco. Now, this Petco is in a shopping center that we don't frequent regularly, and it's gone through some remodeling.
Part of that remodeling includes speed bumps in the parking lot. I don't see many parking lots with speed bumps, but so be it.
What really got me was this sign:
Do speed bumps really calm traffic? I think of animate, sentient things as having the potential to be calmed. But something inanimate and, I don't know, immeasurable (traffic is ... traffic)? Calmed?
