I guess because I can't imaginine not being in a hospital with lots of people on hand, oxygen, REM music playing, etc....

The funniest thing is that *I* think it's fascinating. :) It's unusual, and very few people can say the same thing.
Of course, the joke is "Were you conceived in a hospital?"
