I had so many grand plans this week. I had such great posts to write, presents to finish making, cookies to bake, exercising to do....
Instead, not much got done.
Sunday and Monday I had a ton of work to do for AssistU and Write Well University. Since Old Dell crashed, it took me a long time to get everything back to working order. I found myself distracted by Old Dell not being at her best. Things like installing programs (that I did not need right now), getting my Outlook rules set up, and, most importantly of all, customizing my desktop wallpaper so that Old Dell looked like Old Dell.
Geez.
Once Old Dell was just like New Dell :), I could work. So Sunday and Monday were big work days, and life felt just like I did when I was DOing, DOing, DOing all the time. Hmm. Watch out, Dawn!
So Tuesday came, and I watched movies ALL day. Seriously. I was still sleepy after getting the girls off to school, so my brilliant idea was to get back in bed and watch movies... and fall asleep if that's what happened.
Well, Turner Classic Movies played great movies all day long, so I was stuck. Darn. Gotta hate it when that happens.
First, I started out with A Patch of Blue. I've seen this Sidney Poitier movie before, but I couldn't remember how it ended. So it was necessary to watch (and to stay awake).
Next came Hud. Now, I've never seen this Paul Newman movie, but I'd certainly heard about it. I was transfixed from beginning to end, although I have to say I was disappointed by the ending. (Spoiler Alert - I like movies in which the antihero is redeemed. That didn't happen here.)
I started the next one, Night of the Iguana, but I just couldn't stay interested. I decided I'd done too much movie watching, so I ate lunch. After a little bit, I worked out (yay! once this week!) while watching Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Now, I own this movie, so it's not as if I can't just pop the DVD in any time I want to. But this is such a great movie (on my list of top ten overall) that I just had to watch. Unfortunately, the girls came home from school, and I couldn't finish it. But, hey, I own it, so I can just pop it in any time I want to!
Chris shuffled the girls to gymnastics, piano lessons, and Girl Scouts, so I wrapped Christmas presents while I - you guessed it - watched a movie! This one rounded out my Christmas movie selection - The Muppet Christmas Carol. I love movies that make me laugh out loud!
Then, dinner and girls in bed. Chris wanted to watch a movie, and he was in the mood for The Muppet Christmas Carol, so I watched it for the second time in about five hours.
Wednesday was a little busier. :-) I had a chamber of commerce committee meeting, a chiropractic appointment, and coaching. Yesterday, I spent a lovely day with Stacy and Vicky. Now today is Friday, and I haven't accomplished near the number of things I thought I might. But hey, I've gotten my movie watching farther along!
So I'm hoping that this post gets out today and that maybe I can do a few more things before this lovely, wonderful week comes to an end.
