So, now I've closed Virtual Angel. Now what?
As you know if you've been reading my posts here and here, my goal is to create a new business, Write Well University. Along with a few gremlins about actually creating my new venture ("Do you really think you can do that?"), there are my personal shoulds and criticisms about my current state of in-between-businesses-ness.
"Now that I'm not working in Virtual Angel, I should have plenty of time to work on WWU."
"I should be registering the new business name and working on website copy."
"I should contact my graphics designer for a new logo."
"Isn't that enough TV watching?"
"So when exactly are you actually going to do something with WWU?"
"Geez. You could actually at least get a quilt finished if you're not going to do anything really productive."
As part of my self-research and BEing process, I'm reading Suzanne Falter-Barns How Much Joy Can You Stand, and one of the many wonderful nuggets is this:
"The creative process is not computer software that provides all the answers at the click of a mouse. Rather, it is a sensitive beast who comes to sit by your side and befriend you only after you've stroked and fed it every day for a good while. This beast demands your care and nurturing; it wants to build up your trust, and it craves your love, because in truth, that beast is only you."
So what I'm really doing these days isn't just being lazy. I'm nurturing myself, taking care of myself, and feeding the beast - me.

Wow! Our parallel lives continue! There is something about gestation of creativity and letting it be born vs. forcing and pushing prematurely!

Dawn,
I've been following your comments here for several weeks and I wondered what you were going to do with your life after Virtual Angel and now I know!! I think what you are doing is awesome and I'll be cheering you on. :) I, too, have been taking a look at my life and scaling back a bit. I feel like I'm getting ready for something, but I don't know what just yet. Good thing I'm usually up for an adventure.
Take care,
Cindy
